Commander say he was on neither side? What is the significance of this? What did Joshua feel like during this
encounter? How did he feel after this encounter?

September 28, 2015. Tetrads of four sequential lunar eclipses with no
intervening partial lunar eclipses occurs 6 other times in this century, but
this is the only time it occurs on the Jewish holy days of Passover and Feast
of Tabernacles. The last time that four blood red moons occurred together was
in 1967 - 1968, probably related to the recapture of Jerusalem by Israel. The
time that the tetrad occurred before this was in 1949 - 1950, probably related
to Israel becoming a nation. Before this
time, the last occurrence was 1493 - 1494, probably related to the expulsion of
the Jews from Spain.

Moses Intercedes for the People

“A Stiff-Necked People”
Up on the mountain,
God tells Moses what is going on with the people.-"Go down, because your
people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt.
“They are a stiff-necked people”
Stiff-necked"
is a reference to a mule or ox which would resist the lead rope and refuse to
let its master lead it. Instead
it would stiffen its neck against the reins. The Israelites have attributed to
an idol what the invisible God has done! It is a terrible sin!
‘’This is treason against the Monarch’’
Moses Intercedes
for the People. God tells Moses that he will destroy the nation of Israel, and
reconstruct the nation from Moses' own offspring. Moses' intercession is a
clear example of someone who has taken God's interests into his heart as his
own. Even though, in a way, Moses' own family would benefit from God's proposal
as the New Patriarchs, Moses appeals to God, boldly interceding for the people
of Israel, pleading for mercy rather than condemnation upon them. In the end
God relents and responds positively to Moses' prayer.
Exodus 32:12
Why should the
Egyptians say, 'It was with evil intent that he brought them out, to kill them
in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth'? Turn from your
fierce anger; relent and do not bring disaster on your people.

“The Seventh Seal”

“Out of Formation”
Spiritual
disciplines of God and men deals with the re-introduction of ancient practices
to the modern church. The
essence of is that God has ordained certain disciplines for our spiritual
maturity but men have added their own, not unlike the Pharisees of Jesus day.
The believer needs to discern the difference
and live according to God's ordained means. Ancient disciplines, most
often practiced within the monastic movement in the early centuries of
Christianity, have been dusted off, repacked, and resubmitted to believers as
the means whereby spiritual growth is obtained. There is increasing discussion about fasting, journaling, pilgrimage,
simplicity, solitude, silence, contemplative prayer, and spiritual direction in
Christian literature. What can be learned from this renewed interest in
spiritual formation, and what are the dangers, teachings and dangers of the Spiritual
Formation Movement - for spiritual formation. It examines the means, or
disciplines, which the Word of God clearly identify as ways God has designed
for His people to be transformed into Christ-likeness, and to experience
intimacy with Him.

3,000 skeletons,
many of them plague victims, must make way for new train site in London.
The bones have been
resting beneath layers of London soil for centuries, largely undisturbed since
buried there during plague outbreaks. Soon, they will all be dug up so a train
line can run through the site. Archaeologists began the excavation Monday and
expect to recover the skeletons of 3,000 people, many of whom are believed to
have perished during bubonic plague outbreaks, including the "Great
Plague" that devastated London in 1665. Between one and three people died
in most infected homes. In
extreme cases whole families died. People were terrified of the disease; some
threw sick servants into the streets, others refused to help sick friends and
family. Samuel Pepys wrote
in his diary, ‘the plague [is] making us cruel as dogs to one another’ – see

When Solomon had
finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in
carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, the Lord appeared to him at night and said: “I have heard
your prayer and have chosen this place for
myself as a temple for sacrifices-When I shut up the heavens so that there is
no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my
people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray
and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,
and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open
and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
I have chosen and
consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my
heart will always be there. As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as
David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws. I
will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father when I
said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to rule over Israel.”
“But if you turn away and forsake the
decrees and commands I have given you-and
go off to serve other gods and worship them-hen I will uproot Israel from my
land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated
for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all
peoples. This temple will become a heap of rubble. All who pass by will be
appalled and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to
this land and to this temple? People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken
the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who
brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving
them—that is why he brought all this disaster on them.
